Beheld Ritual Arts

Attend to the Tender

The vision of Beheld Ritual Arts is to cultivate resilience and belonging for all bodies. It is to create a gentler container for all beings to be able to unfold into deeper sensing, and therefore deeper connection. Attending to what feels tender within ourselves, and taking on the role of Tender for what truly needs our attention and care in the world.

Ritual has long been a human tool for strengthening our bonds to each other, to ourselves, and to both the natural, and spiritual worlds. In a modern culture that lacks the foundation of these traditions and rituals, we often find ourselves lost, and grasping at anything nearby that can ease our desperate longing for deeper connection. When we create a ritual space, we invite what’s Holy to come and join us there. These moments slow us down, so we can find within ourselves a little more capacity for wonder, connection and understanding, in a fast-paced, cynical, and lonely culture.

My work here is to bring my passion for creating and facilitating ritual to all those who recognize this need, and are not yet sure how to meet it. The human experience is a complex intertwining of the sacred and the mundane, our expansive cosmic consciousness shoved into these strange flesh vehicles. With care and attunement, we can weave these two together in an artful and enlivening way.

It can be easy to find ourselves in tricky territory when beginning this journey, especially for those lacking ethnic or religious identity, or any lifestyle connections to ancestors. Cultural appropriation can happen when people of privilege, and descendants of colonizers, lack the life experience to understand the impact of utilizing the cultural traditions and heritage of marginalized peoples.

I am constantly educating myself on how to bring these tools to varied individuals and communities, with tender care and attention to any impact or harm that these topics can incur, and to keep all practices in the appropriate realms. May we all be inspired to continue this work throughout our days.

This over-culture has not been kind to all of it’s inhabitants, and there is much inequity in our world. I am committed to anti-racist practices, gender equality, and creating safer spaces for All Bodies.

I strive to bring some balance by offering sliding scale prices for sessions and workshops, and reparations prices for BIPOC kin.
