2026 Fall Season
(Sep. 17 - Dec. 12/13)
Both groups are non-auditioned, performing SATB choirs.
They share a schedule and a concert.
Commitment to the concert is an important part of both.
Resound
Resound is an inclusive choir that meets for 1 hr. every Thursday.
Resound is more accessible for beginners, but there will also be some satisfying songs for those who crave a little more complexity but aren’t ready for the challenge or commitment of Echo Ensemble.
All songs will be taught by ear, with printed lyric sheets (and occasionally simple sheet music), and practice tracks for at-home practice.
Echo
Echo is a more challenging ensemble that rehearses for 1 hr. before Resound, and then merges with the larger group for the second half of the night.
Echo is for those who are dedicated to learning their parts and looking for a challenge.
All songs will NOT be taught by ear. There will be sheet music (although music literacy is not a requirement), and singers will be expected to use practice tracks and sectionals to prepare.
Dates & Times:
12-week season - Thursdays, (September 17-December 10) for 12 weeks, with one week off (November 26).
First session - Resound & Echo will meet together on September 17 from 6:15-8:45pm. For all following sessions, Echo will meet from 6:15-7:30pm, and Resound will meet from 7:30-8:45pm.
Dress rehearsal - either Monday, December 7 or Friday, December 11 (please save both dates for now).
Concert - Saturday, December 12 (with a possible additional concert on Sunday, December 13).
What to expect:
There are seats for all members. There will also be invitations to stand and move and intermingle.
We set up in a circle arranged in sections from high to low (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Baritone/Bass), with an altar in the center.
Although our weekly sessions incorporate some elements of somatics, ritual, and collective embodiment, this is not a designated ritual or therapeutic space.
There will be opportunities for community connections, but plan for socializing time to be tended outside of choir time.
What is expected of you:
We ask that members schedule around choir rehearsals and events, and commit to participating in the concert. Please carefully consider your availability & capacity to commit, including whether you will take the time to catch up with practice tracks when you miss a week.
In order to build something together, we all have to bring our offering. Each singer’s voice matters and your absence does have an impact on the group. We ask members not to miss more than 3 sessions (1/4 of total rehearsals) per season.
Independent practice will be expected via practice tracks (and catching up on any missed sessions).
Resound Community Choir
Description:
Resound is a non-auditioned, inclusive, SATB performing choir. Our weekly sessions incorporate play, somatics, ritual, and collective embodiment, along with focus and challenge. All music is learned by ear, with printed lyric sheets (and occasionally simple sheet music).
Resound is made up of singers with varying levels of experience and comfort, so we strive to make it more accessible than typical performing choirs (simpler song choices, more digestible learning material). It is also more challenging than a song circle or community singing event, as singers will need to memorize specific parts and practice outside of our weekly sessions.
Our repertoire includes everything from simple, repetitive 2-3 part layered songs and rounds to 4-part SATB arrangements that will require more focus and effort. The style of our song choice ranges from heartfelt anthems of liberation, meditative chants, Eastern European polyphony, to the occasional pop song. Everything will be taught by ear!

Weekly Sessions:
We will meet in conjunction with Echo Ensemble from 6:15-8:45pm for the entirety of our first session. All other weekly sessions will be 7:30-8:45pm.
Attendees:
We typically have 70-90 singers total. Weekly attendance fluctuates between 45-60 (typically a larger group on the first night).
Skill level:
All skill levels are welcome! Some experience is helpful, but not required. Although perfection is never the goal in this space, individual effort is important. Please gauge your own capacity for challenge, and know that there is community support.
Inexperienced singers will find easy access points for beginning to explore their voice. They may also find the experience challenging in some ways.
Intermediate singers can access most of our repertoire easily, with occasional growth edges.
Experienced singers may not be as challenged by many of our arrangements, but we always have a few pieces that will scratch the itch for complexity. - Echo Ensemble will be a good opportunity for this!

Supporting - $275+ ($23+ per session)
Balanced - $225 ($19 per session)
Supported - $175 ($15 per session)

Echo Ensemble
Description:
Echo Ensemble is a non-auditioned, smaller, more challenging SATB ensemble. We will rehearse for 1 hr. before Resound, and then merge with the larger group for the second half of the night. Echo is for those who are dedicated to learning their parts and looking for a challenge.
All songs will NOT be taught by ear. There will be sheet music (although music literacy is not a requirement), and singers will be expected to use practice tracks and sectionals to prepare.
Our repertoire will be 4-8 part SATB arrangements that will require more focus and effort. The style of our song choice ranges from new arrangements from favorite songwriters, Eastern European polyphony, Shape Note hymns, to the occasional pop song. Song choices will stay within an intermediate range, and occasionally reach for something a little more difficult.
Weekly Sessions:
We will meet in conjunction with Resound from 6:15-8:45pm for the entirety of our first session. All other weekly sessions will be 6:15-7:30pm, and joined by the larger ensemble from 7:30-8:45pm.
Attendees:
As this is our first season with this ensemble, we will have to see what happens, but I am hoping for a group of 30-40.
Skill level:
Athough this ensemble is not auditioned, it is designed for those who are self-selecting into a more challenging experience. If you are a returning member, think of this group as being entirely made up of the most musically challenging, or lyrical songs we have done.
Some experience is necessary for this ensemble. We still have plenty of room for mistakes and learning, but we are also working to share our beautiful artistry with our community. Please gauge your own capacity for challenge, and know that there is community support.
Inexperienced singers will find this ensemble too challenging.
Intermediate singers can access most of our repertoire with a range of ease and effort, working at their growth edge.
Experienced singers should be able to navigate this repertoire with a satisfying amount of challenge.
