Hand-bound leather journal, with archival cotton paper.

Hand-bound leather journal, with archival cotton paper.

These journals are hand-bound in a leather cover with tri-fold construction.

There are 140 (280 counting both sides) hand-torn pages of unlined, ivory colored, 100% cotton Southworth archival paper, are enough to satisfy any avid writer. The hand-torn edges give a rustic look and soft texture.

Each signature is firmly attached to the cover using a decorative long-stitch binding pattern with contrasting waxed linen thread. The cover is also edged with decorative stitching. This book is sturdy and secure, with enough flexibility to lay out flat for ease of writing on a table or to shape to your hand for writing on-the-go.

The leather wrap-around strap closure is simple and secure.

Leather Options:

  • chemical tanned cow hide covers are sourced primarily from scrap bins.

  • deer leather covers are tanned by hand, using traditional vegetable tanning methods, sourced from local, NC hide tanners. This leather is finished with oil that may occasionally stain some of the pages. I do add a protective layer in these books, but some staining may still occur.
